Sneh Kunj provides multi-disciplinary treatment and rehabilitation services for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. The goal is to improve functional independence, communication, mobility and quality of life rather than to cure CP, which is a lifelong neurological condition. Treatment services at HCPA include number one, physiotherapy. It improves muscle strength, balance, posture and coordination. It helps reduce muscle stiffness and improve walking, sitting and standing abilities. It uses therapeutic exercises, stretching, gate training and mobility training. Number two, occupational therapy. It develops skills needed for daily long living such as feeding, dressing, writing and personal hygiene. It improves hand function, fine motor skills and independence in everyday activities. Besides therapies, regular health assessment and monitoring of each child, child’s physical condition is done. Qualified doctors visit Sneha Kunj and access them for their health conditions and accordingly, if required, medications are also given. Regular tests are also carried out in health checkup camps which are held at Sneha Kunj at regular intervals.
