Empowering Special Lives with Care, Hope, and Dignity

HCPA is probably India’s first such initiative where totally dependent adults can stay with dignity and honour. In the year 1987 a group of Parents who came together with a deep personal concern for their children afflicted by a condition of cerebral palsy (cp). Their prime concern essentially was “who after us”. The parents united and created an organization that could become a long-term support system for their children; this organization was registered in 1987 with the Registrar of Societies. What began as a parents’ collective initiatives gradually developed into A Home For spastics (Sneh Kunj) where such person can receive dignified life, Therapy, Rehabilitation as a long term arrangement totally dependent on caregivers for essential daily activities such as bathing, eating, personal hygiene and medications

Sneh Kunj - Home for Persons with Special Needs

Cerebral Palsy (a kind of damage to the brain) forces the affected person to depend on others for even the very basic needs of life like – walking, toileting, communicating, feeding etc. etc. They have a normal life span & need training & education more than the normal children, as they have to combat their disabilities also. CP as such is not a disease. This is a condition. But unfortunately, this can not be reversed. The victim has to bear it through out the life.
